Welcome to Delmarva Foundation of the District of Columbia
Delmarva Foundation of the District of Columbia (DFDC) is a nonprofit organization located in the District of Columbia that has been monitoring and improving the quality of health care for citizens of the District of Columbia for more than 28 years. As the federally designated Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for the District of Columbia, DFDC is under contract to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), to improve the quality of health care for Medicare beneficiaries. In August 2008, work began on the QIO Program's 9th Statement of Work (SOW), which extends through July 31, 2011. To learn more, read the CMS Fact Sheet [pdf].
We fulfill our mission by providing leadership services and consultative resources that ensure all Americans receive care that is safe, effective, efficient, equitable, timely, and patient-centered. Our professionals include physicians, nurses, scientists, analysts, and other quality experts working in teams to achieve our strategic goals of transforming healthcare.
